I just bought/assembled an Agri-Fab 48" core aerator (45-02994). It seems well built, but I did the tongue strength weld modification to be pro-active.

I found out (the hard way) they weren't kidding when they warned about the sharpness of the knives. (!)

Question to anyone that has this: What is the purpose of the four "whizloc" nut and bolts they had me install. They don't attach anything, and I don't see the reason for them...

I have the same one. I thought maybe they were make the cinder blocks not slide around as much. I converted mine to a 3pt hitch, found the tow behind on a sub compact difficult to use cause I had to get off the tractor to raise and lower it, plus I have a lot of weight on it.

I got a reply this morning from Agri-Fab and she confirmed your idea. They're there to prevent the cinder blocks from moving around. I think I'll use straps/bungies. They advise 140 pounds as the max weight to add. I'm using my zero turn mower instead of my tractor, for the maneuverability.

Makes sense, the downside to the 3 pt is I can only go straight or slight curves, need to lift it for turns or it tears things up
