Rotary Cutter Bush Hog

   / Bush Hog #11
I have a friend who buys a bunch of tractor junk and resells it. Most of it he does a "Krylon rebuild" on, so it looks good and then he sells the stuff on ebay. He keeps most of the stuff like your talking about till he gets tired of looking at it, then sells it to me. When I need a bush hog, I go out back and rebuild one from the pile. The pile has been getting smaller with me being out of work, but I have made a few people happy in their mowing pursuits. If you have any fabrication skills and a torch and welder, it really isn't brain surgery to rebuild one. A couple days and some steel and your back in business. My big advantage is having quite a bit of scrap steel that has kept me from having to purchasing new steel. At todays current prices, investing in new steel can ruin a budget on rebuilding a bush hog. I generally try to rebuild the areas that are coming apart with thicker metal, and hopefully better welds. I don't scrimp on welding rods like engineers do when designing a new deck.
Good luck with it, keep us informed.
