(SQ84T) the blade tip speed is 11,500 fpm where as the SQ720 blade tip speed is 14,963. I wonder what makes the blade speed so much different?

The 84T has 2 sets of blades?? If that's right, then each set of blades will be about 42" diameter, tip to tip. The 720 single spindle set-up will be about 72" diameter. If the 84T gearbox doesn't turn the blades at a significantly higher rpm, the larger diameter model will have the higher tip speed.

If my numbers are right, the 84T is turning about 30% more rpm than the 720. The smaller blade diameter, however, translates into slower tip speed, despite the higher rpm.

Just a guess.

I have the sq720 with a slip clutch, on a New Holland TC29
It works great, it's just a little bit wider then the tractor and that makes it easy to guide in small places. I will tell you that look at buying a finish mower first, unless you will be cutting alot off brush. A field cut with a finish mower looks better.

What is an LK3054? I don't get out much, so pardon my ignorance.
)

AN LK3054 is a 30 hp Kioti. They are Korean and usually sell with more standard options then the big three for less $$$, I know that's why I bought mine.
