Rotary Cutter Bush hog, Down to three

I am about to make the call.
Bush Hog squealer-5ft 3 years old,looks good but has had gear replaced by a dealer I trust. It is on his lot.=$650
International Im500-5 ft couple of years old but has never been used (tractor died) =$550
Hawkline 5 foot- It is new on local JD lot. Looks like the Squealer but not as HD.They will sell for $525.

Which deal would you go with and why, or should I keep looking?

Are they all 5 foot mowers? If the Squealer gear box has truly been replaced by the dealer, it is probably a good deal. You might check the shaft and the blades to ensure they are spinning true. There must be a reason for the replacement gear box. See if you can find out and then make your choice.

Why would it matter at all why gear box was replaced. Irrelevant. Buy the Squealer and be done with it. They are good low priced Brush Hogs. I've gotten good service from several.

I would go with the Squealer. I have got real good service out of mine which is a 5 foot also. Real good price on it also. I bought mine last year new and gave almost double that for it.
