Reminds me of my early days with M80 and M100 "firecrackers"--Long before the ATF and Consumer Products Safety Commission got involved. They were said to be equal to a 1/4 stick of dynamite. Never tried to blow up a stump but we sure turned a lot of old plastic models into vapor. It's a wonder we still have eyes, arms and legs. They made a heck of a bang too.
