There's an access point to a drain for a buried water line running to our garden. The housing for this access is busted and I'd like to replace it, preferably something with a lid. This was probably put in several decades ago. I think it might be a piece of clay flue, but I'm not sure. The outer dimensions are 13"x18"x23" and the wall is about 1.25". Can someone confirm from the pics if this is clay flue? Is there something that works better for this type of installation?

Thanks
Keith

Yup, that sure looks like a clay fireplace tile. Should be able to find one at any lumber yard. You could just purchase a plastic water meter box, not much more than the tile, with a lid. Look at a box store.

Like CrownHog said, I use water meter basins with the water meter lids for access pits alot. I have also went to culvert companys and gotten scap culvert and put a concrete lid on it.
