I bought a MF 1532 last summer , I did not want a cab . Reasons , not used enough to justify initial cost of cab , convenience of getting on /off of small platform , a.c. must work on a cab machine . The only time I miss one is blading snow . I have good coveralls , etc. (probably will continue using ) My question , years ago they made removable canvas cab shields , do they still ? I see Curtis does make a cab , don't know if it's removable , also looks a little pricy . Just inquiring what eveybody else does .

If you think blading is bad, do not get a blower! I intend to build my own cab. At this point it should cost <$300 while the lowest priced soft soft cabs are in the $250 range.

Alternatives for many is to get a soft cab (golf cart?) if they have a sun shade and just drape it over the shade. Another is to build a quick and dirty frame then drape the soft cab on it.

My home built solution should end up with a hard cab, framed in wood, with Plexiglas windows, external lights, and if possible some way to wipe and heat the front window.

Amen. You could not pay me to run a blower without a cab. Sure it's not so bad if the wind is not blowing, which almost never happens around here.

I can plow it faster, most of the time, anyway.

No problem. I added a canopy to my 1529 to keep the heavy snow off of me and wear Wall's brand coveralls. I'm good.:thumbsup:

With this you end up with a canopy for year round use and a soft sided cab for the winter. and the price is a lot more reasonable than a Curtis or Laurin cab and offer more protection than a wind break.

Porky, did you note that it requires a canopy? Don't forget to include that into the overall prices.
