I apologize Soundguy.....my post was way out of line. I miss-read what you said, and then I tried to use a little tongue-in-cheek...and botched that up pretty badly. I'm just upset with the county and their fee's....not you.

When I built the apartment on my property for my parents, I had to have a sepperate address from my house before I could get a meter. Tried to find out where to get the address. The post office said to just make it up. I put 1/2 after my house number. Got a meter and living happily ever after.

That might work on a private road here.. but not on a county road..

The post office gave us an address here when we built our house. It took a couple days for word to get from our PO to our carrier and for that person to drive by and make up an address between our 2 closest neighbors, and for that word to get back to us. It was free to us though. Junk mail arrived very quickly.

I've heard complaints about 911 street naming/numbering systems that have gone into place in surrounding counties. With 2 young kids at home, fast emergency response is worth infinitely more to me than any potential address issues. I would have happily paid $50 to aid in the cause.

I don't believe that the dollar amount is what peeves people its the fact that these people already receive a salary and then want more to cover the expenses
