I spent hours searching through all the TBN posts, and to save somebody time in the future, I thought I would post this report.

Thumbs up for the 7' Farm King on the back of my JD 4120. Five minutes on/off with the I/Quick hitch. It doesn't overpower the tractor, and it has saved my bacon. Best of all, it is fun. 5' drifts require about 1/2 mph to get through. Love the hydro spout.

In one day I used it to get three vehicles unstuck, and it allowed me to get to the office. Roads were closed, but in tricky spots from drifting I just reversed and blazed my own way.

It is a must have. Only complaint is there is a nearly 1/2'' gap between the impeller tips and the housing. Still throws snow, but I think it could be further. Nevertheless, I am satisfied with it.

You are so right! With the snow blowers we have sold it does make a difference. Many old dairy farm boys will tell you that on a forage blower they should pass a dime and toss a nickel. Same here, stones might make some difference later on in life but it does make a difference on where the paddles end. Some paddles on professional units are actually cupped! Will they ever throw!!!!!

I suppose if you are clearing a parking lot or other large area more distance would be required. My 13 hp PTO and 50" Buhler throws 20 to 30' which is plenty for my windy laneway. The gap often fills with snow.
