Bucket Hooks on NEW XR4145HC

   / Bucket Hooks on NEW XR4145HC #11
If you can weld, and have a decent welder, there's no need to buy bolt-on hooks. I bought three G70 weld-on hooks off fleabay, then found them cheaper at a local welding shop... My bucket is 3/16" thick across the top, so I welded them directly on. (See pic in post #2 of my thread below.) If you have a lighter bucket, then welding the hooks to a 3"x3" or 4"x4" piece of 1/4" plate, and welding that to the bucket would be better.

If I did it again, I'd weld the center hook first, and then use a 5/16" chain to position the two outer hooks so all three can engage the chain at the same time. My hooks ended up spaced just wrong, so the chain is between two links in the middle if I hook it semi-tight across the bucket... Live and learn... :)

Have fun with your new tractor!!

Rather than hooks, I decided I would get more use out of "D"-rings,,,

I got them off of eBay,, I selected D-rings because I prefer rope to chains for most lifting.

The D-rings will work with chain, also,,

That is a 5/16" and a 3/8" chain on the ring.
