Just changed out the fuel filter in my diesel Buck with a CarQuest #86264. Had to put a new Oring on the stem that fits into the filter top as the old one stuck to the old filter and came out with it. This Carquest filter that I had was a pretty tight fit, which makes we wonder if it is the right one (granted it was about 0deg F outside that might have had some effect). So my questions are:

What is the right fuel filter for a diesel Buck tractor, and which brand(s) seem to work best?

What size Oring should one use on the stem that fits into the filter?

TIA

I also have that tight fit problem.

I believe that the plastic bowls actually shrink somewhat over time as I was fortunate enough to have obtained a Mitsu original (in bag with P.N.) and it also was real tight.
So I now no longer use the filter in the bowl and let the bowl simply act as a separator and have cut the fuel line downstream and add an in line paper filter to catch fine particles.
No problems over 7 years with that setup but I do change that in line every year as it is very cheap.

The Oring is oddball and I had to make one up to fit.

Napa's filter is 3264, wix 53264 and Fram cg9271. I can supply an original equipment filter and new bowl if necessary. I have found that most of the aftermarket filters are either a little big or a little small. Call 1-800-609-5110. Bill - satohparts.com
