I've been clearing more of our land and was curious as to what I've been cutting down. Property was open field 30+ years ago and has overgrown since then. A large majority of the vegetation is what's shown in the pictures. It's anywhere from 6 to 8 feet tall with stems generally less than 2 inches in diameter. Just curious. Thanks!

If it smells good I would call it Honey Suckle .We used to have some on our lawn and yours looks like ours.

Don't know the correct answer. I've never seen it growing here in the south, but it ain't honeysuckle. Honeysuckle is a climbing vine.

Thanks for the replies. I did a search on honeysuckle bushes. The flower looks close but a couple sites say that the bush only reaches 3-4 ft in height. They also look bushier. I couldn't find a variety that was tall and singular like the ones I have.

Well there are many opinions out there and some are quick to say I am wrong . I will tell you this I have lived where i do for 48 years and there is a honey suckel bush on the old home stead about 15 feet tall.Either that or everyone in the area is also mistaken . I learned a long time ago I am one of the few who does not know everything ,alas I fear we are a dying breed:laughing:
