I'm looking to purchase my first Brush Hog for my newly purchased TC35 which is 6' wide. I need to cut a 1 1/2 acre field, maybe only twice a year and I would like to cleanup about 2 acres of woods.
My question is, what width unit should I buy? Does it need to be the same width as the tractor? Since I don't think I'll be using it all that often, I want to spend as little as possible. I'm looking at the RZ60 for $725.

I think a 60" bush hog would be fine. I know a lot of people run a 72" on a tractor your size, but I think that is too wide i fyou get into heavy stuff. I run a 60" on my Ford 2120 which is larger than yours by several sizes.

the TC35 is the class III isnt it...

I run a 5' behind my TC33...worked great this weekend, brush and thick tall grass seemed to be no problem.

I have a Case DX35 (same size tractor in Red from CNH) and I run a 60" bush hog. You don't need anything bigger for what you are going to do and a 72" bush hog will be a lot more expensive. Plus, if you are using it in the woods, the wider bush hog may get hung up on a tree if it extends past your tires. I think you are making the right choice with the RZ60.
