Brush hog rebuild.

Want to rebuild a bush hog side panels. My question is can the side panels be straight? Is there a reason that the side panels always curve toward the back? Figured may be something to do with the cutting action of the blades. Would be a lot easier if they could be straight.:newhere:

Older rotary cutters had square decks. Then the rear corners were cut at 45 degrees to save on steel. now most are rounded. Build it however you want and are best able to do.

The angle or rounded backend lets you get closer to objects on a turn.
