I got nailed a few years ago by one of these nasty little buggers. It got me on my second toe---I had a habit of coming home and taking off my shoes AND socks and slipping on a pair of comfotable tennis shoes to wear around the house like slippers.
The toe soon turned an ugly black/purple. I dug through my wife's medical books (she is a RN) only to find that there was no cure for a brown recluse bite.
I went to my local doctor who prescribed a medicine (don't remember the name) which he said was primarily used for treating leprosy, but had shown some success in also curing brown recluse spider bites. IT WORKED! Completely healed up and went away, and to this day I can't remember for sure on which foot the bite was on.
