Brown Recluse Bite - Home Remedies?

I would like to know if anyone has any experience with treating these bites. I was bitten a week ago. I was collecting camping stuff from my basement storage, loaded up the truck and headed out. About an hour into my trip my outer thigh started itching like I had a piece of straw inside my pants. Then my inner thigh on the same leg started the same itching. Seems the rascal crawled up my pants and took revenge for me disturbing him. Thank goodness I was sitting down and my pants stopped him from going any higher.

I have been to the Dr. and have a prescription of oral antibiotics and topical steriod to use, but was wondering if anyone has any experience with alternate treatments, ie home remedies, herbs, etc.

While the bite areas are uncomfortable and not very pretty, I am lucky it was not any worse (according to the Dr.).

Stuff happens and life goes on!

I am also concerned, after doing some research on the net, about recurring and long term effects, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

If it is certain that it was a brown recluse spider bite, it can be a very serious conditon indeed.

Some years ago a friend of ours who happened to be a medical doctor, was bitten on her lower leg by a brown recluse spider. The wound progressed and did not heal well at all for months. She tried every type of remedy she could find. Ultimately, there was real concern that amputation of her leg might be required to try and stop the infection.

Then, she heard about a homeopathic remedy specifically effective for the brown recluse spider bite. I am sorry, but I do not recall the exact remedy. It would have to be the precise remedy, and correct dose, not just "any" homeopathic remedy for spider bites. As I recall, she actuallu obtained the remedy from a physician in India.

If you would like to call her and ask about the homeopathic remedy, she probably would be glad to tell you what it is, and suggest where to get it.

Thank You kindly for the information.

The doctor is certain that it was a brown recluse that got me. Due to the lack of proven modern medical treatments available, I want to investigate all alternatives. A dose of antibiotics and a tube of steriod cream does not give me a great level of comfort, especially when there is no antidote for this type of bite.

I also know there are alot of people in this forum with alot of common sense and grass roots heritage, thus the reason I am asking for their help here too.

That spider is missing the the Boot print. That spider needs to be flatter and wider.
