Hi !

Typically, as soon winter is over finally I have got my snow fight set-up done. Classic 🙃
At least I hope you will agree - my dealer have made really fancy :cool: Red on red :love: 😁

But there is one thing that bothers me. Rotation direction of that broom (or brush - how it's correct in English ? )

Right now it's throwing towards tractor. Shouldn't it work another way ?

Broom can be inclined by means of hydraulics. But change of rotation direction is not an easy thing - you see it's PTO driven
Tractor still is at dealer's yard, but there is no snow to test.
Those guys doesn't have a prompt answer, just saying while tractor is at their shop they can make it any direction

Which one to make it spin ? What you think ?

Check the manual; I'd think that would be a common question that would be addressed in it. I have never used one myself, so have no clue other than mechanically reversing something along the pto shaft

Away from tractor. If towards tractor, operator will be covered by snow and you would be trying to sweep snow you have driven over and compacted

Broom or brush are both correct in English. Sometimes the differences are just regional.

The direction of rotation depends on which way you wish to work with the broom;
working while driving forward it needs to throw toward the tractor,
if you wish to work it while driving in reverse it needs to spin the other way.

I agree. It needs to be throwing the snow in front of its direction of travel, other wise it'll just be putting the snow back over its tracks.

With that said, I've never seen a broom on the back of a machine. It's always been on the front. They make a tremendous cloud of snow and slush, depending on temperatures. I sure wouldn't want it turning towards the machine at any time.

I've always seen them brushing snow AWAY from the vehicle.

I agree, away from tractor, you'd either be white as a ghost or black as the asphalt depending an what you were trying to sweep if it were turning toward the machine. Wondering tho, how are those casters going to work while going backward, they'll be into the broom......Mike
