I've been following this thread and you said it was at the dealer and would be fixed by Friday. Well, I can't stand the suspense<smile>....did they get er done?

You know in todays complex world with redundant safety devices and complex electronics I think virtually all vehicles have some kinda little ah oh when new. I know I haven't bought any in years and I buy one each year at a minimum and all have had some issue or other. Many of my friends just ignore the little things cause they don't wish to take the time for dealer repair. Not me my year old jeep has 19 service tags for the same issue still not fixed

I think you have it right.... Simple ohmmeter test between plug on end of harness (at dash) and connector at temperature sensor on engine block would confirm if its a "wire" issue...

Dale

Actually it's a single wire, temperature sensor is resistive ground from(?) engine block to plug on PC board panel......

THis I found out trying to find issue with my new 1715 with less than 2 hours on it to find loose screws on printed circuit board holding mechanical part of gauge to printed circuit board.......

I got it back, but not fixed.
They are going to replace the entire wiring harness, rather than cut and splice the one on a brand new (less than 30 hours) tractor. They are waiting for the new harness to come, then will contact me about picking it up to replace. I can use it in the meantime, and my grass does need mowed.
I may be able to have the old harness, they have to hold it for up to 90 days, until MF tells them to send it in or destroy it.
I want to add fuses to my fuseblock, for a light circuit, and I should be able to pull the old ones out of the old fuseblock.
I'm pretty happy with my dealer, JAVA Farm Supply, in Westfield NY. Formerly Rammelts, still run by the Rammelt family

Thats great! I have tons of lights on my old tractor and often in the hot summer just keep going until way into the night especially if my tool box on the tractor has cold beer in it.<smile>

Another issue popped up. The glow plug light now does not work. I think the glow plugs are activating, because the oil pressure and charging lights dim a bit.

so you got it back already with the new wiring harness and more issues? If you still have the old harness I'm not surprised. Your symptom indicates a short in the wiring. Tractor is new so if it burns up they will have to fix it.

No, not the new wiring harness.
They brought it back to me to use while waiting for the new harness to arrive. I think they might have bumped something while diagnosing the problem.
I will advise them of this new symptom, to be certain it is also fixed with new harness.

Good move. I figured thats what was going on. How long is it going to take them to get a harness?

They said a week. Haven't heard from them yet on it. I'll give them a call next week.

Called them yesterday to see what's up, left a message. They called me back today. Harness is in, but they are backed up a bit with other work. They appreciate my patience, and will call as soon as they have an opening. No problem, I can use the tractor as needed.

Picked up tractor Wednesday, brought it back today. I was still asleep, (didn't get home from work until 6am), but they told the wife that they also installed another fused circuit for me.
I had asked about getting the old harness, so I could take the fusebox apart and salvage some of the old fuse holders and add a circuit or two.
I have a great dealer!

I need to mow again, the buttercups are taking over the yard, so I'll update that it really is fixed.

Glad to hear it’s fixed and back home. I was pretty sure the problem was in the dash printed circuit board. looks like I was wrong, which is a good thing.

I have not had time, or dry weather, to actually mow yet.
The dealer called to make sure the issue was fixed, I told him I don't know, yet. I did thank him for adding the extra circuit for me.

Everything works as it should!

YEEHAA!........and i hope you never have any more issues. Wishing you both long and trouble free lives:thumbsup:

I don't think there has been any new vehicle I've purchased that hasn't had some little quirk that needed fixing. Sometimes i wonder if it isn't wise to buy stuff a couple of years old after the bugs have been fixed. Chuckle...an AF Colonel friend just bought a new full sized toy truck fully loaded and brought it over to show me and i noticed a rattle. He took it in and they found something to do with the catalytic converter i think maybe it was the heat shield loose. My new jeep renegade trailhawk has an orange screen that pops up for a few seconds then disappears to return maybe in ten minutes or maybe ten days. Irritating but i love the car. Jeep has no fix and its been a year.
Never bought a new tractor this will be my first one
