Well, I stopped by my dealers this weekend (this was a long weekend here) to take a look at the new tractor. WOOOOOWWWW. I thought the specs and pictures make the CK and DK series look pretty close in size, at least to me. NOPE, they're not. I would NEVER have bought this tractor without having moved through the CK30 first, I would have taken one look and had one word for it, overkill. Having maxed out the CK30 and wanting a little more, I'm OK with moving up to the DK, but it's going to take some time to get used to the extra size.

Now for the cab. Well, it's VERY VERY VERY nice!!!!! Firing up the 4 cylinder engine, which I can tell is going to make a huge difference, it is already significantly quieter than my CK cab. Closing the door seals out so much more noise. I can see listening to the radio peacefully without having to turn the radio up to where my ears hurt (it still has 4" speakers, I don't understand why they can't put better ones in). The rest of the cab feels very much like the fit and finish you'd find in a car. My Kioti cab was nice, but nothing like this.

I love the two pedal hst set up and I'm used to it from my JD955, I never really did adjust to the rocker pedal in the CK30, even now I'll find myself pushing the brake wondering why it won't move back! I also love that the brakes are on the left side and they can easily be separated. I used steering brakes all the time with my 955 clearing and flooding my rink in the winter, and it just wasn't possible with the CK30 set up.

The CK30 was a luxury tractor when comparing it to others in the same hp and $ range, the DK addresses all of the issues I had with the CK series and has many upgrades on top of that. In reality, the CK is a much better fit for my property physically, but I look forward to maxing out what the DK can do.

Now you're talking! Seen the light he has, the young Jedi warrior!
You thing the cab is great, wait 'till you start using it, you'll be hooked more than a crack addict:laughing: Your tractor with a cab IS the best thing since sliced bread. Sometimes I really wish I had a cab:(:drool::drool:

So do I, and I'd have posted some by now if we (we're blaming the kids) hadn't lost the camera! I just spoke to my dealer, it should be at my house on Thursday around 3:30, he's just loading the tires now. I guess that's how long I have to find the camera.

Likely story:laughing: The 'ole, the dog at my camera routine- jeese, and blaming it on the kids- now that's low:confused2:
Its only Tuesday, and we're going to have to wait 'till Thursday?! now that's just downright unfair- keep looking for the camera.....

We could send you some orange paint and make you an honorary member of the pack....

I think that is a great idea. AND you would have the only orange NH around. How cool is that? :)

Very interesting read! This talk of pics makes me think we should get some pics of this new tractor in the next parade!!!

So I guess, other than the obligatory pictures, we should NOT expect to see you posting much until after the missus tells you to get out of the cab and come say goodnight to the kids? :)

I saw on another post, you mentioned your new DK had 11 hours on it. Mine had about 15, and when I asked about that the sales manager told me he had used it with an old bucket and grapple for several hours ( the bucket and grapple it was delivered with showed no usage). He also said it was the tractor they used when people wanted to test drive a DK.

I wasn't really bothered by that and I at least feel like items like loose fittings, leaking hydraulics, etc, would have been more likely to have been discovered by the dealer before I got it since it was used by them. I park it on new sealed concrete in my barn and there has been no leakage to date, so hopefully my theory is correct.

I am calling him to set up the 50 hour service and will mention the 15 hours and see if I can get a little "token of appreciation" for those hours

Things aren't going to work out as planned I fear. This cab is so nice, my wife's going to move in and make me live in the house and take care of the kids. Then at the end of the night, I'll probably have to bring them out to the tractor to kiss her good night! Was there ever a resolution to installing satellite in the tractor from that other thread? I'll need diagrams.

Yes, I'm starting with 11 hours (maybe more now) and that's a little higher than I'd expect or like (I think my CK came with about 4hrs). I'm not going to make an issue of it either, my dealer is working to make this deal and I appreciate it. The tractor also hadn't been fully prepped and still had some factory packing in the cab and as I mentioned in the other thread, it still has a sticker on one of the front tires that was still mashed to the threads, so it couldn't have been used that much, probably just from the dyno and customers trying it out.

15 hrs or 11 hrs is a little high when you have high priced maintenance to do at 50 hrs, so I agree, see if your dealer with show you some love for the extra hrs, my dealer dropped another $500 to make it happen, so I'll consider that compensation for me.

You should get some suitable ballast as well for the new beast if you are going to be working the loader hard. The curl function on these seems to be quite strong.

Stop it!! You're going to make me cry because I won't have a bh anymore! Ya, I know that's going to be an issue. The tires will be loaded and I'll have my 60" medium duty bb permanently attached, about 450lbs I think. If I get into heavy work, I can always throw my zamboni attachment back on my box blade. It has 2 50 gallon stainless steel tanks mounted on a metal frame attached to the top of the bb. That'll add 1500 + lbs.

When you get ready to get rid of BLUE, you can come to ORANGE, KIOTI ORANGE That is and be all updated on the tractor and not have to look around for which one you want!

I am guessing that my Gannon box blade is around 1000lbs and my tractor will still lift the backend off with loaded tires, either with the bucket or grapple. CJ

Shouldn't that cab have internet access?

I agree with you on the hours- I didn't figure it out right away as the manual says the hours meter does show in tenths of an hour, I assumed it showed 1.5 hours, but I'm guessing if it does show tenths, it doesn't do it until after you go over 100 hours.

Kiotis now come standard with ORANGEtooth!:D:thumbsup:

Ballast on the rear is going to be important. Not a huge deal, but something to definitely keep in mind as you work the loader to capacity.
Compared to your prior tractor you'll see a HUGE difference in what the Dk will lift/transport, so be careful in turns, especially as you approach any tipping points. I've had the rear tire jump up on various occasions when I'm grappling large TREES, boulders, etc. even with loaded tires and a box blade or my winch on the back. If possible one stops and carefully thinks about how to lower the loader to re-balance the load to prevent rollover or tip-over scenarios. I strongly urge using your seat-belt at any time these kind of conditions might likely present themselves. This is not to scare you- just a reminder that without the hoe on back your center of gravity is way different. You'll adjust- just do it safely.

Ha ha, thanks guys... Don't think she'll be ready for a paint job 'til at least the 50 hour service.

I'll give you this, Kioti seems to be one heck of a machine.
