TripleR & beppington, we're always happy to have you guys around. If I hadn't of bought a Kioti, I would have bought a Kubota, and may well just do that one day, so I like to get to know people from all the forums.

My wifes reaction to this has been soooooo much better than I thought. We talked about it last night and I even showed her a few posts from this thread and even if she didn't love the idea, she was very good about it. I just got this email from her.

...Your thing is tractors, I get that, and I love you for it!!!

She did follow it up with

HAPPY EASTER, Happy Birthday, Happy Fathers Day and Merry cHristmas 2013!!!!!! Shopping complete!!!
I will look for deals for 2014 celebrations, last thing you can call me is a procrastinator!!!

Well, I just got off the phone with my dealer...

Looks like I started this thread out of frustration and contemplating a different brand and I'll be ending it by trading for a DK45 HST cab :cool2:

I'd like to thank you all for all the encouragement and especially for spending my money :laughing: I'd also like to acknowledge Chris's generous donation to the cause (careful what you put in writing!) and I'll have the paypal info for the rest of you soon!

We ended up settling on trading my CK30 hst with Kioti comfort cab and Woods BH-70x + $2000 for a new DK45 hst cab with free loader from Kioti. It's to be delivered next week and not a moment too soon, the CK30 was starting to get dirty!

Congratulations Ken, I bet you are as excited as a chocoholic in a Hershey factory! I know I would be.. I bet you will really like the extra capacity of that big DK. Good Luck.

I got mine from my wife for my birthday early June 4 years ago. I still get presents, only they are cheap ones. Got to admit I sure don't mind. Wife was pretty happy when I picked up a used post hole auger a couple of years ago, fenced in some pasture for her goats. The things I don't do to keep her happy.

Might I suggest that though you are already set for presents for the next year or so you should not be a slacker as to gifts for her.You would be wise to step up to the plate and make every possible occasion this next year very nice for HRH. Be double sure to not forget any key dates and spring for at least a dozen roses if you cant think of anything else, and try to ace a couple of "how did you know that was what I really wanted".
My own SHMBO is ahead of me as she bought me a 3'x8' SS Grimm raised flue sugar rig for my birthday a couple of years ago and now I have a new 45HP mfwd on order. I'm looking for an Emerald necklace and ear rings (JD green) to mark our 35th but there are house re-modelings and other projects done to her specs in my future. Wouldn't have any other way other then to be ahead of her so could go shopping for my next "Need".

Do you all realize what we have done here at the Kioti forum.

1. We were savy, quick witted, and calm enough to talk down a very upset Kioti owner from the brink of destruction and regret

2. We were able to convinced a very doubtful Kioti onwer to not lose faith and keep his head up.

3. And we were able to cause a very doubtful wife to turn 180 degrees and allow Ken to get his new bigger, better tractor.

4. We pretty much saved a marriage and ended world hunger and everything in between.

We are a powerful bunch and I would not trade it to be on any other forum, green , blue, or weird orange. :laughing:

Ken I am happy your still here, and congrats on the new tractor. You will have a hard time maxing this one out. Tell your wife she made the right choice.

Agreed, your problems don't inspire a great deal of faith, in this particular tractor, but there are a lot of people here on this board that their Kioti's have been rock solid for them.

You have a very valid concern about once the tractor is out of warranty. So far, your dealer seems to have been very good about trying to make things right. I would expect for that to continue. What I might suggest, is that you have him aid you in approaching corporate and have them extend your warranty. Eventually, these flaws will have to reach an end all everything needing correcting will have been done. I don't think that your tractor can continue this pace of breakdowns indefinitely. At this pace you will own a new tractor, just piece by piece. They might decide to swap out your tractor for a new one of similar make and model. That might be the cheaper route for them instead of extending your warranty and the costs incurred with all the labor rates and parts they are spending on the current tractor.

As for not being enough tractor, you know what you need and how well the present tractor can or can't do what you are asking of it. It clouds the waters on what course of action Kioti might take. Best scenario, they might take your original purchase price and apply it towards the larger tractor you might be considering, with you paying the balance of the price difference. I realize that in our legal system, people are often rewarded for pain and suffering, which you have, in a way, incurred. Kioti is in business to make money, I would be highly surprised that they would upgrade you into the larger model out of the goodness of their heart. Who knows, stranger things have happened.

A lot of this is going to boil down to how well the dealer and your regional rep will go to bat for you with corporate. It seems that your dealer is in your corner, I hope the rep is to.

I wish you the best in a tough situation. It is a tool, a very expensive one, and it is supposed to work when you want it to. For it not to, is truly a frustrating and trying experience. There are a lot of people following your situation and pulling for you. Please keep us informed of your progress. For people in the future considering Kioti, this thread could really help them in deciding about a purchase. Not so much that this ruins the brand, but it is more a testament to what kind of support Kioti will be giving to a possible customer. As so many others have stated, color of the tractor is not so much the most important factor, but what kind of support the dealer and manufacturer give after the sale. In my book, this is a big moment and opportunity for Kioti to step up to the plate and show A LOT of people that they are very serious about standing behind their product and working at customer satisfaction and therefore developing excellent brand loyalty.


Congrats on the upgrade, was reading the beginning of thread and didn't see the resolution till now. Glad that you seem to have resolved your problem with what seems a fair and equitable solution for you.

Enjoy that new tractor smell in your cab!

Man, I cannot believe I missed out on all the fun on this thread!

It reads like a classic Hollywood script. Boy meets tractor, boy falls in love but is jilted and left in green despair by evil tractor#1. Jilted boy contemplates honor killing (burying) of evil tractor which would have ruined boys life. Then, just when you least expect it, along comes an even prettier tractor with a very appealing cab and saves boy. And in the epilogue we will see boy cuddled up in cosy cab blowing snow and living happily ever after with honest, sturdy and loving tractor with the bodacious cab.

Only problem is the boy's wife could get jealous but that subplot will be developed in the sequel due out next fall.

She bought my Stump Grinder, her idea... She is not a huge faCongratsn of the tractor, but she sees the value. she thinks I bought a bigger one than I need, I just need to prove that wrong over time...

This is great and I love happy endings. Good decisions on your part and a great wife. What's not to like?

When things go wrong with new products or machinery, I have learned that "your first loss is your best loss" and when something goes wrong I usually bail immediately and sell or trade the item ASAP rather than devote hours and agony to what is often a lost cause.

Thanks guys, I've enjoyed this thread. I always love threads where people are on the fence about buying a (new) tractor and it goes back and forth a bit, I'm thinking of James' experience recently among others, but I didn't expect to have that experience myself. 1 minute before my CK30 broke the last time, I never could have imagined this would have happened.

Dingo Man, there's so much truth to the above it's almost silly, #4 might be a bit of a stretch, at least the part about my marriage :laughing: Kioti should send you each a hat because I doubt I would have gotten excited enough or trusted the brand enough again to upgrade without all the encouragement.

It's also nice to hear that there are other guys who are still crazy about their wives, especially when the years start to pile on (we're at 12). Maybe it's my current age and stage in life (read young kids), but I don't see enough of that around me anymore, I was starting to think I might have been alone.

My wife's parent's who now live with us, just celibrated #69 (!) and they were spry until a recent turn for the worst for one of them.
In their 90's now, he preferred horses and drove a steam tractor when they were in current use!
