I want some snow!
and I agree, bring on the white stuff
which is why we in the south figger y'all need professional help;) :) How come though the only pictures we ever seem to see are the ones of the first day, pretty, undisturbed, pristine, white blanket .... and none of the slushy muddy weeks of crap that follow? ;)

Great looking unit. Hope you have good luck with the blade. My King Kutter bent like a pretzel when it became hooked on a piece of ice. Now it has a 20 degree angle in the straight hole position. ( and a knot in the base shaft ) I thought it would be tough enough for the snow in the drive but I was wrong. No more KK items for me.

I used a 6' standard duty KK blade for the past 2 winters without any problem. The one I have now on the JD is a 6' medium duty (Professional Series) blade, I should be ok with it I hope.

Glade someone is looking forward to the snow.

Great blade. I would suggest thinking about gauge wheels so you don't dig into the driveway. Thats what I did on my rear blade and worked well last year. The wife liked the fact that the grass stayed where it was. The only problem was that the cheap wheels I bought twisted a bit. This fall I changed to metal casters.

Good idea with the gauge wheels. I have been thinking about doing that or skid shoes. However, I do want to scrape the snow down to the pavement. A lot of my driveway is shaded most of the day so if I leave a thin layer of snow on the pavement it will freeze up and become icey. I may just adjust the top link to a less aggressive angle. The blade weighs 320 pounds so I think it will still cut down to the pavement even with a less aggressive angle.

Disclaimer! This might be blasphemy.

As much as I love my 4120, I don't think my neck would stand the frequent twists it would take to plow my 900 foot gravel driveway. Not to mention the S-curve and the drainage ditch that add excitement even when going forward. So I'm here to tell you, my Honda 4-wheeler makes an excellent plow machine. I put on a Moose brand plow with an angled blade and I can fling snow downhill or uphill. Clean as a whistle and the whole rig including a set of chains for the rear tires was under $800.

Which is not to say I wouldn't maybe use the bucket on my tractor to move the snowbanks back as the season progresses, but I otherwise don't plan on plowing with the tractor.

Nice job on the paint though! :)

If I lived in cental Maine and had 900' of drive to remove snow from I would more than likely buy a front mounted snow blower or get a 4 wheeler like you have. You get much more snow than I do for sure (have fun:D ). For the snow I get and the frequency I get it the rear blade will do on my 500' drive.

I want some snow! I painted a 6' King Kutter Professional Rear Blade (Medium Duty, which was a faded yellow with rust spots) and the SpeeCo Quick Hitch, which was red, JD green. Can't wait for some snow.:D

Just wondering, how tall is that ROPS? Looks oversized for your machine. Maybe just bad picture angle or something.

It's the factory ROPS. 89" to the top, I think, without looking at the specs...

I fought for years with walk behind snow blowers on my 650 foot gravel driveway in my heavy upstate NY snow belt area. I'm NEVER happy to see snow but this year I'll be seeing it from the seat of my 2320 with a front blower and chains!

Soon.

I'm building a garage now and am fighting the cold to get the doors up although today was great, 60 degrees and sunny.
