Somewhere among this site I read that one compared the Massey to the Branson. Well, I am here to at least compare two models. The Massey 1533 and the Branson 3510. I just about bought the Branson until my neihbor said his neighbor was using a Branson 3510 and I should go see for myself.
Surprise....
What sold me on going to Massey was that the two are not really close at all.
The Massy had much better fit and finish and the ergonomics were much better in the Massey. The hood had rust already forming on the metal edges and the platform bent under my weight of stepping up onto the tractor. In addition, the Massey shifting was as smooth as butter, while the Branson was more rough. Case in point, the Branson had my hands hitting the fender well in shifting. Not good nor comfortable.
Last but not least, the local dealers seemed like nice people, but the Massey dealer spent awhole lot more time with me and told me to go test it out in his fields and dirt mounds, the Branson dealer had to be asked to even start the tractor.
Lastly, Massey now has 60 months on some models, and the choice was very easy.
