I have a project where i have 1" box inbetween 2 3" angle pieces. they rest aginst the back stop which is also a 3" angle. I was trying to think of the best way to tie all those pieces together. my first thought was to weld the box to the back stop so that it has 3" of weld aginst the back edge. place the to side angle pieces aginst the root of the box weld and weld in to place.

I also need to weld 1" box at the other end of those angle pieces but no piece in the front to tie it in to. I was thinking of using a cuting disk to make slits in the verticle part of the angle and use the box as if it were a backer so that the weld ties the 2 pieces together.

Kendrick, morning...
It appears the 2 3" angles and the sq tube are not structual members. I would drill 1/2" holes in the 3" angle that is laying on the ground, where the 2 3" angles and the sq tube are located and then blind weld them in place.. drill as many holes that you think are required to hold stuff in place....
