I have a Woods box scraper with scarifiers and was wondering if I could put say 1 scarifier, at it's lowest depth, and use that as a subsoiler? I realize that it may not go as deep as a subsoiler, but wondered if it was worth trying. Let me know what you think.

Sure, it will work, but maybe 6 inches of penatration at the most.

That wouldn't be very sub-y.

What are you really wanting to do? Break up a hard pan, the box blade with a scarifier isn't going to cut it like a subsoiler... If you just want to rough up the top layer to plant seeds with the box blade, I've done that... and it works well.
Ok, I appreciate the link on this subsoiler, however the company King Velo, selling it is not able to be downloaded. It comes back as unloadable and reviews of the company say it is a scam.That wouldn't be very sub-y.

I just looked online at my local stores. They're not sold for $150 any more. Since 2019 they have really gone up in price, like everything else. Now they are $250 and up.
