Century 3035 w/C50 loader (due in on 10/23!!!)
Well, I think I looked at about all the 35 hp tractors available and finally decided on a Century 3035 w/C50 loader and Rim Guard in the rears. I figure an operating weight of about 6,300 lbs.

Does a 6' box blade make sense for this tractor? I'd really like to cover my wheel tracks (64.5" for the R-4s), so a 5' will not quite make it. Should I be looking at a 7'?

The dealer I am buying the tractor from is offering a 6' Kodiak ST for $500. Has anyone had experiance with the Kodiak? I'm in New Hampshire (they don't call it the Granite State for nothing!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif), so I suspect the scarifiers will get a workout.

Thanks, all suggestions are appreciated!

I don't own a box blade (yet) and don't know about Kodiak quality. However, I was at TSC today where they sell a 6 foot boxblade for $350.00. I believe it's manufactured by KingKutter.

I too live in central NH and you're right about the workout. I would highly recommend you call Corriher Implement in NC (they are sposors on this site), ask for Steve and purchase one of their 30 series Heavy Duty boxblades. Even with shipping it will be very close to the unit you have priced. The quality and service are both top shelf. I've never seen the Kodiak and it may be a fine unit as well. What dealer sells them?

I highly recommend that you visit Corriher Implement link . I have one of their 6' box blades and I am very pleased with it. These were manufactured by Midwest and are arguably the best product out there. I believe that they have the 72" box on sale on Ebay for $360. I also seem to remember that Midwest makes some implements for Kioti, but I am not sure. Shipping will not be cheap, but talk to Brandon at Corriher before you buy.

I'm buying the tractor from Foskett Equipment in Woodstock, CT. Harold (owner) has been very good to deal with and seems knowledgeble about his stuff. I just find the Kodiak literature and website lacking info, like weights, endplate thickness, etc.

8561 and rozett, how much was shipping for your blades?

I have a Kodiak SD 6 ft box blade. I think the SD is one step down from the ST as I paid around $300 for it. 6 ft is a good size for 35 hp as long as you can get traction. The Kodiak is a well built blade, much better than the KingKutter. I have used mine extensively, the only problem I have had was a bent 3ph pin when I snagged a large root with the rippers. I think you would be very satisfied with the Kodiak blade.

Brandon has moved on to greener ?? pastures. He's no longer at Corriher. I've been in touch with Gela via email lately.

FYI .... Corriher is running a 'end-of-season' implement sale. They have a ton of product on Ebay ( just search for business=corriher ). Prices are good, but not so good that I'm ready to jump. If I really was in the market for something then maybe ..... It's worth looking at.

I bought a 20 series box blade from Corriher for $ 360 with $ 50 to ship it to Massachusetts.

They were out of series 20 so they shipped at series 30 /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif for the same price.

Total $ 410 for a heavy duty Midwest 72" blade to Massachusetts.

I bought a box blade from Corriher. Very nice. Shipping should be around $50 to $60 dollars, but it came with my Tractor so it was a bit more /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. My only regret is that I think I would have like the 5ft model better than the 4, but we will see. I have only used it one day to fix a friends driveway, and it worked excellent!

I bought it during an internet special and only paid $50 for shipping. Actually, I bought a PHD at the same time and they charged me another $50 for shipping that. The truck driver said that Corriher paid the majority of the shipping charge. So I am not sure how much the shipping would be now (their Ebay auctions specify that buyer pays all shipping). But I am sure that they can give you a pretty good estimate.

The quotes for shipping others have posted are in the correct range. I purchased a boxblade, a rear tilt/angle blade as well as a toothbar so my shipping was a combined figure. I also ordered a 20 series boxblade and was offered and received the heavy duty 30 series for the same price. I believe TC 35 mentioned that Brandon has left. That is correct. I have been dealing with Steve lately.

One other side story - when I ordered my toothbar, I was shipped the wrong size. I can't remember if I gave the wrong figure on bucket width or if Brandon wrote it down wrong but the bottom line was it was too wide. Corriher could have blamed me for the error as it could have been my fault (I'm just not sure as I ordered multiple items) and I probably would have accepted the blame. Instead, they let me ship it back, they ordered me the correct size and shipped it to me. They paid for all of the shipping (both ways) and got me the right toothbar at no additional charge. You won't find anyone who will work harder to make you happy and make everything right.

I spoke with Corriher today. They are quoting $396 for their BB20-72, which is reasonable. However, $130 for freight to Manchester, NH (loading dock delivery) is seems high. How long ago did you guys take delivery of your equipment?

I was kinda quoting what was said on eBay. I guess things might have changed. MB was quoting me $500 for the Woods 48 box blade. I live in the Manchester area, if you want to checkout my smaller one from Corriher.

I had a Midwest rear blade (RB22-60) delivered from Corriher to the Yellow Freight terminal in Manchester, NH two weeks ago, freight charge was $92. The total cost was $387. It is a very nice product. My local dealer wanted $350 for a lower quality rear blade.

Sounds like a lot of folks from NH are considering getting attachments from elsewhere. I paid a very high (non-negotiable) local price for my tractor in order to have local warranty service (which has been needed), but I don't think this is necessary for most implements.

I purchased from Corriher in June ... I think. I bought through Ebay and they had a fixed shipping fee of $ 50.00 to anywhere east of the Mippississippippissipi ( ? sp /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif ). I know it was a loss for them, and I would suspect it was part of their business building plan.

I just recently inquired about a LR20-96 ( 8' landscape rake ) and freight was quoted at $ 93 for a commercial drop ( terminal or business ). That's still pretty cheap in my opinion, but since the rake was just on my 'things I'd like list' not my 'things I need list' I figure I'll wait a while.

I know it's been suggested before ( co-op purchasing ), but someone should talk to them about doing a regional ship, holding orders and grouping them to a regional drop / terminal to save some bucks. Driving an hour may not be bad to get the shipping down to maybe $ 20-$25 per item. Make sense ???

$130 to Manchester NH is not all that out of line. I got a BB20-60 Midwest box scraper from CCM and paid $130 delivered to a commercial loading dock in Amherst just down the road from you.

geez with all the posts from NH I just had to chime in and say Hi there!

Me too! I lived in Londonderry for 25, but it just got too crowded. So we moved further north and bought a lot more land.

Shipping costs into the northeast are the highest in the country. I've never heard a good explaination for this, but it's the case. I think $130 freight for a 550 pound implement isn't too bad. I paid $1000 to have my tractor (3500#) into NH from Alabama.

I had mine delivered to Manchester (it was actually just over the line into Bedford) about the second week of September. Don't hold me to it, but I believe my shipping was $75 for a BB 30-60 (541 lbs), and $75 for an RB 22-60 and another $30 for the toothbar.
