box blade or rear blade

Perhaps Tom was simply trying to make the poster aware of an alternative he did not know about. Personally I have used back blades for 20 some years to take care of about a mile and a half of gravel roads on a couple family properties and had never heard of one of these grader blades. I borrowed one from a friend of a neighbor not expecting much. After using it once I knew it was what I needed. They are noticeably more expensive than any of my back blades so I hemmed and hawed. I finally found a land pride dealer and picked up a 6 ft grader blade. It almost makes maintaining my roads too easy. The thing is idiot proof. I do not think it will work on snow so I didnt even try. If he really has 2 miles of road to maintain and cannot afford it, I would suggest he get a back blade so he will be able to hit the snow also, then immediately begin saving for a grading blade. I wish someone had pointed out their existence earlier to me.
