I got a box blade last Fall and got to do some grading before the ground froze. When Winter came I started using it as I used to do with my rear blade, to push snow in reverse. I found that the rear facing blade would catch in the ice at times, and really jolt the whole tractor up through the 3PH linkage. The rear facing blade on this box blade is hinged, so I took it off and turned it around backwards. I gave it a test run yesterday, and so far, so good. It's now more like back-blading with my old rear blade, no digging in.
