I'm looking at purchasing a bb for my b7100 4x4 hst with turf tires. I am on info overload with all the posts especially by bob. wealth of info but not tractor specific. I have clay soil, and realize I may have to buy ag tires in addition to the bb. can you suggest the best for the money.

With a B7100, I'm guessing you could use a 4 or 5 foot wide model. Others may disagree, but it seems like 90% of the box blades I've ever seen look pretty much the same.

Stick to one that is just a little wider than the tractor. The turfs should do fine.:D

Welcome to TBN :D! I agree with Egon. Get the heaviest BB for your tractor that your 3PH can lift and if you need traction consider chains. Jay

A heavy 4 foot box will work great for you. Your turfs will work on most ground conditions.

thank you for the replys, I think I will look for a 4 ft heavy blade and some chains. I read that if I get ag tires I would need rims also because they are different sizes?

Maybe somebody with a B7100 will offer their thoughts about the chains. I think I'd give it a try without the chains first unless you run up on a set really cheap.

I bought a United 4' box blade in the spring for my TC18. This thing is built very well with plenty of weight. If you can find a dealer in you area you should look at one. Take a look at my photo gallery for pics.

Definitely try the box blade without chains but with a loaded bucket. The front wheels add lots of traction. If this proves unsatisfactory try some chains. :D

Do not try 4 link ladder chains as they will be an impossibly rough ride. The two link will be acceptable.:D

I wish I had a FEL so I could fill a bucket!

Now that should not be too hard. Hang a 5 gallon bucket on the front and fill it with dirt!:D :D :D :D
