bouncing shredder

Howdy folks,

first time posting and first time tractor owner, well at least a tractor this old. Its a 1956 Ford 850, she runs great, but wont lift the shredder all the way off the gorund and it surges some if I leave the lever up where it keeping pressure on. any ideas?

Have you done all the common things like filters, screens, changed fluid, purged any air if any.

You should probably install a hyd pressure gage and check some pressures.

Piston seals may be leaking in the 3pt, pump might be weak, 3pt valve might be leaking.
