the photos are the end of the tractor, not the tiller end.

I have since removed the the tiller, to get better access and its soaked 2 days with wd40. I still can not pull back on the plastic collar at all. I want to cut it off so bad, never had a pto shaft with a tiny plastic cover that you are suppose to grab .
Any other ideas? i am wanting to cut the plastic sleeve/cover off but worried the dealer will try and blame me for doing somethings wrong. Thank you~

Is there a sleeve on this PTO shaft you have to pull back on to cut it loose? Usually there is a locking collar, some have a button, some you just pull back on to let the pto shaft off.

Thats not a Kubota issue if thats what your talking about... Same thing happened on my Deere mower from leaving it outside after using it almost non stop for 3 days.

Give PB Blaster a shot, a fat flat bladed screw driver and a rubber mallet. Between the 3 they should free it up.

But the dealer should offer some help with that.

I would REALLY think the dealer should know about this it's brand new. Isn't that part of buying a tractor finding the right dealer??? I would think if start taking flathead drivers and mallets to the unit you are surely gonna void warrant!!

Just my 2 cents I guess

I did some "light" screw driver work last night with no luck, found myself with mallet in hand but did not use it, going to take it by today i hope!.

It does have a plastic collar over the release, that is what i want to cut off because you can not see whats going on underneath it.

I am happy with the tractor so far, but only had it 1 week. It runs great, cuts nice, handles very well (with loader off, pretty long with loader and tiller) and i have not even cranked up the RPM's yet. I do not blame this problem on the tractor, i believe its just a case of them installing a rusty PTO shaft to my tiller and maybe it should have been cleaned, greased and lubed better before they put it on, least i hope!
I will keep you posted on the outcome.

Is the collar one that turns instead of pulling back?

The pics of shaft is not enough info. Whats behind that corrugated sleeve cover? there could be a band or something. It looks like it might be flexible enough you can roll it back to get better access or remove that plastic sheild so you can have better grip and underestanding how it works so it can be reinstalled. what about pics of whole shaft? there is something holding it, gotta be the silver collar to let go of ball inside and then you can slide it off.

If you haven't already called the dealer to come back and show you the right way to remove/install that shaft, go make that call!!! All dealers should be showing you the inside and out of equipments or answer questions you have.

If for any reason you still making efforts to work on it yourself, try shifting the pto selector to MMM only so the shaft will spin freely and turn it to take a good look all around. its possible due to angle of tiller on ground, its binding the lock collar so it won't slide one way to unlock the coupling.
try holding the shaft towards tiller and push in and pull back collar then pull whole thing out. pls resist the urge to put screwdriver on the silver collar, everything is designed to be worked with human fingers pressure.

good luck, hope you get it figured out. ( I just wish there wasn't so many variations of pot coupling locks, it'd be easier to troubleshoot for you)

Got it figured out today after a trip to the dealer, and 1 hour of them using pry bars! It was locked on and not me, i will attach a couple photos. I asked for a new shaft and they of course did not have any, but they did clean the old one and its been night and day for ME now, sure is nice and i even used the tiller today, it does great , but i guess even better once i know what i am doing.., thank you all for the help!!
