bobcat toolcat
Hi,

Looking for advice. We have a bobcat toolcat for our property. Paved driveway and long road. We struggle bigtime with moving snow with either the plow, snowthrower, or even bucket as if there is any ice or loss of traction the machine just slides. We have the standard lug tires. I feel as if they are so slippery because they are so hard as snow tires for cars work well because they are soft and of course the tread.

I called our dealer and they say they make a snow tire. Anyone ever use it? they are skinnier, but not sure if they are softer. We do not want to use chains as we are afraid of damaging the driveway and road (newly paved).

On a side note the snowblower design is the dumest thing ever with the side bits of metal that stick out. They leave nice score marks in your driveway if you have too much forward tilt, which ironically enough actually does the best job cleaning.

TCRanger: Purchased a Toolcat in Fall of 2020. Ran 29 x 17 x 10.5 lugged tires with high-quality Wallingford square-cut chains all winter in NH Lakes Region. Operate with snowblower (835#) and salt/sand spreader (325# + material weight). Use on concrete sidewalks, asphalt parking lots and roads. The chains are medium on aggressive scale as they don't have prongs. They don't seem to damage surfaces which at times have been quite icy. If road camfored much some side slippage may has occurred. Stuck twice on a sloped shoulder especially if one tire completely loses traction. I have discovered that the Toolcat prefers mostly level ground and is very sensitive to weight distribution.

If it is a G Series it must not have the optional Traction Control.
