I have a good sized yard (about 45min to cut lawn) and 1/2 mile grass runway most of the time it is firm.

Will be interesting to hear your thoughts on using it on the lawn. I have a commercial Deere front mount mower for the lawns and it takes me 3-4 hours for everything. The Toolcat would take a lot longer due to all the obstacles but having a 90" vs. a 72" would help. The Toolcat is much better for the bordering areas since those are rougher.

There must be somebody out there who's mowing their front lawn with a toolcat. I'm planning on giving my Ford 4000 tractor a rest when I get mine. The tractor weighs 3400 lbs and it rarely makes a mark on my grass, and I'm hoping that another 1400 pounds will not be a problem.

I mowed the lawn and runway the other day and it did a great job.

Awesome...what do you fly?

Dad is a mechanic so we have gone through a few, I started with a 152, M-20C, PA-14, 172, last year sold a Cherokee 140 and this year sold a Cessna 170, now Dad is looking at a Tri-Pacer or a Champ, with the fuel prices getting higher, the planes just seem to get smaller.

Hi Panther:

I started out flying Cessna and Piper aircraft early in my career when I was flight instructing. Lately I haven't had much time to do any GA flying as I seem to be out mowing with the Toolcat every free moment I get!
I really miss flying low and slow though, and envy anyone with their own grass strip. Here's what I'm flying these days:

Nice avionics, but not good for grassy strips. I have a piece of property that I could establish a 1900 foot grassy landing strip. Zoning is always a problem but I'm wondering if it would be worth it for potential home estate prospects. I only have 5 lots available right now so I guess it would only be for those with deeper pockets, which do not necessarily describe pilots.
