Bobcat CT235
Has anyone attacked a leaking hub seal?
Easy to do on a truck, but I’ve never done one on a tractor.
Looking at a parts diagram, it looks fairly simple- drain hyd fluid, remove wheel(heavy), 4bolts to remove, etc.
A service manual would be dandy to have.

Yes, four bolts and the seal retainer comes off. But before that you need to get the axle out. Now it's not so "fairly simple".

You need to pull the axle assembly to get the axle out to replace the seal.
Its not that bad of a job.

Just like all easy “1 day” jobs, it takes way longer.
BTW, does the axle case need to be removed to, as per the photo to replace the seal?

Yes,
The axle nut and gear need to be removed to pull the axle.

DK35vince is absolutely correct! I didn't take pictures when I did mine but it looked "exactly" like his pics show. Pull the tire - rim - wheel and then unbolt the axel assembly from the main frame and begin removal of the bearing and seal. Reverse, repeat process to re-assemble. Time consuming but is doable. After once done, it does get much faster but still takes some time. You'll soon learn this when the other side starts to leak also. Both sides on mine leaked, but the left side was the worst so I did that side first and learned how it was done; then I replaced the right side whilst I had everything off, apart, and braced up. Good luck!

OK, got it.
Anyone figured out seals, O ring, gaskets from somewhere else besides Bobcat?
OEM seal# 6696578, O ring# 6696278 on order, but it will take forever. Need to locate case gasket, and new shaft nut.
anyone try NAPA, Kubota, JD for quicker service.

My axle case had no gasket.
I used Permatex Ultra Grey (maximum torque) gasket maker
I ordered my Oring and axle seal from Michigan Iron.

Isn't the Kioti CK 35 basically the same machine as the CT 235 ?

I do believe the CT235 is a Kioti CK 35 in disguise.
Strange about the case gasket. The MX manual parts page shows a case gasket, but a dealer could not find it.
So— I’m assuming that there is hyd fluid in the case (hense the leak). Impressive that the case does leak w/out a gasket.
