Was on the Bobcat site and found they are showing their new 4x4 Utility vehicles (this may be old news - I haven't followed this forum for a while).

Overview: Bobcat 2100, 2200 and 2300 Utility Vehicle

The model 2300 has a lift arm (called Rapidlink) in the front configuration like a Toolcat (but much smaller, lower capacity). I am not sure if this post belongs in the Toolcat or ATV/Utility forum, but I had a couple of comments and questions about this new model:

Why did they invent a new attachment mechanism? Why didn't they just make this take the mini-loader attachments?

The mini loader has better specs than the 2300 - higher lift height, more aux hydraulic flow.

Looking at the mower setup, its obvious that with a front-mounted mower, you really want rear-steering.

Anybody try one of these or own one yet?

Interesting but they look more like ATVs on steroids than mini Toolcats IMHO.

The attachment device is very similar to the Power-Trac one for the PT180 (smallest PT).

What do they use for hydraulic power? Do they just have a pump attached to the engine? Seems like at idle it wouldn't flow a whole lot. You'd have to shift to neutral and rev the engine, unless it's a variable displacement pump.

I saw this and I liked it. jsut the fact that you can put foks on it and lift, was it 500lbs or 400lbs is really a nice feature. Instead of lifting a heavy item up to the bed of the vehicle you can jsut push/pull amneuver it onto a pallet and move it slowly with the forks. Also it is 2 passanger which is really really nice, a small loader is one passanger.

I demo'ed one of these this fall. After the dealership dropped it off and picked it up twice to get a cooling issue reparied the unit actually worked pretty well. I only had the bucket, but was able to do quite a bit. I do not think the forks would go high enough to lift a pallet into the bed of a truck.

The unit was very stable on terrain and powerful. It rides high and visibility is good. The snowblade looks like it would work well, however I think the broom is a joke.
