Definitely not a highway speed truck at 48 MPH top speed but a great farm truck or back roads vehicle. I recently sold my 1 1/2T Chevy (not 4x4 and 6.17 gearing). Loved the truck but could not keep up with my buddies on the highway driving to car shows. Price isn't bad either but adding the options to the price can be a deal breaker.
That totally depends on the age of the machine. The later turbo models will cruise along at 65mph, even with a load. The older pre-turbo models were definitely a pooch.
I've used the turbo models in the Southwest Asia deserts, hauling wayyyyyy more than their designated capacity, with no problems. Very dependable trucks. Just understand, they are crude, no frills.
An example of crudeness. The trans is a 5 speed. R forward, 1 rearward are in the first shifter gate. 2 forward, 3 rearward are in the center gate. 4 rearward, 5 forward are in the right gate. See an oddity there????
