Anyone have any experiance they want to share? We are looking to get a 4000 lb. boat lift for use on the lake. Have a price of around $3600 installed for a Shoremaster.

As a matter of fact, in the last 60 days I had a 4,000 lb. lift installed into my open-sided boathouse. Is yours going to be a free-standing lift, installed on overhead beams, or on piers?

it will be a free-standing lift...

We bought a 4,000 lb one about 7 years ago. Free standing and we paid around $2,200.00. But again, just like tractors, the area has a lot to do with it.

Boat house lifts are generally more popular in my area, and that is what I had installed. It was only $850 for the lift, plus $650 to have it installed. It tied into the bottom chords of the overhead trusses in the boathouse. I went with the cradle sytem rather than slings.
