Bleeding air from Ford 7.3 L

Anyone know the procedure for bleeding air from a '93 (old style) Ford 7.3L diesel? I noticed a schrader valve on top of the filter assembly is that some type of air bleed?

You can use the valve to purge air after a filter change with mixed results...But the real question is WHY do you have air? If it's from a filter change, then just crank it ( in 30 second bursts) till it starts-it will run rough but smooth out quickly.
