Energy industry(specifically oil companies) are the only business I know of, that pass any and all increased costs DIRECTLY to consumers.
Not sure of your point? All for-profit businesses must pass their costs on to the consumer, or they won't stay in business. Doesn't matter how many middlemen involved, the 'stuff' still rolls downhill.
I'm not defending oil industry profits, just the realities of free enterprise. The mom and pop gas stations have to pay the going price, but if they want to stay in business, they have to include their costs also.
