BIODIESEL

Dirtcutter:

Be real careful about using biodiesel in your tractor. Definitely do not use 100%. It may negate your warrantee if you have problems. Biodiesel will also tend to lift all the old sludge in your fuel system leading to a lot of clogged filters and injectors. You do not live in a "cold region", but it also has a much higher gelling point :(. Jay

I have a customer that has been running his home brew since I droped the Kioti tractor of brand new 1-1/2 years ago.
No problems at all... or at least no problems he call me on.

CK30 HST Have you tried biodiesel and what were the results ?

I have been using off road biodiesel in my kioti DK 35. I get it from a loacal truck stop and it works good and it even smells good too.and its cheap like $2.50 a gal.
I have had no problems.
Dirtcutter were you thinking of making your own,or buying it from a store?

Are there any warranty issues with burning bio-diesel?

Regarding the warrantee issue, I would contact Kioti to see what their stanc is. I know that Kubota has posted biodesiel grades that are compatible with their machines (ie, won't void the warrante).

My pump and injector man over in Ft. Worth loves the bio-diesel... especially the home brew stuff. It is making him a fortune.

That's odd since it's well known that biodiesel has better lubricity than petrodiesel, burns cleaner, and supports tank algae at a much lower level.

I've looked into biodiesel for years. What most folks need, if you don't use a lot of diesel each month, is a group that forms a small co-op to make what they do use in 30-60 days and devide it up in those amounts. It helps spread the cost out, and amortizes the equipment required over more folks.

It is very easy to make. Take a look at the National Biodiesel Board web site.
