Just about every jack I have owned has nearly frozed up on me. Typicaly il take them appart, wire brush the rust off the threaded rod and grease them. I hold the leg of the jack in the vise and chuck up the rod into a cordless drill and run it back and forth a few times. They work great for years after that.
