Big battery - Deka 908DFT

The bucket truck I just bought has one of these large batteries to run the hydraulics. Just looking for a little information for future reference. Is this thing a deep cycle? I ask because my battery charger has settings for 12 volt Regular and 12 volt Deep Cycle. I can also set it for 2 amps or 12.
Google turns up lots of places selling them (and prices vary greatly) but not much on whether they're deep cycle or not. I'm no auto electrician so I just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing.

It does not appear to be a deep cycle battery from what I can tell from Deka's website - just a large battery designed for the heavy-duty equipment market.

Thank you. I didn't see deep cycle mentioned in my search either. Like Rocky says, it's 1425 CCA.

Used them on some cranes with the triple nickle motor. 555 cubic inches. They last a long time and we rarely had trouble with them. But they were costly to replace.

I think that's just a regular 8D battery with a flush top configuration.

When it comes time to replace it, you can save a lot of money if a battery with caps on top will fit.

Lots of room. Thanks for the tip. I'm just lining up sources now so that it's not a scramble when that day comes.
Looks like I can find a replacement at the local NAPA for around $202 with a $60 core charge. I can live with that.

Check to make sure that's the 1400cca battery they quoted you. I believe its a 8271, thats the equivelant to what you have.
They also have a 1100cca 8D, but it is not that much cheaper.

It's actually 1425 CCA, just like the one currently in the truck. Funny, yesterday the price at NAPA Online was $201 & change. This morning it shows up as $216.84. Part # BAT 7271FT. But after punching in my zip code and picking my local store the price dropped to $211.19.
