Re: BH Pics wanted \"PLEASE\"!!!!!!!

Nice picture of the bucket - I noticed that the L39 has a quick connect on the backhoe bucket - how exactly does that work? Would it be possible to get some pictures of attaching/detaching the bucket and how it connects? I am always trying to come up with my next tractor modification project for the BX23 and I am wondering if it would be possible to make a quick connect for the bucket on the BX backhoe.

Re: BH Pics wanted \"PLEASE\"!!!!!!!

Jim, now that I look at it I think it doesn't quite fit a 121-3 excavator. Whoever mentioned it in the last thread in the other forum was right.

Re: BH Pics wanted \"PLEASE\"!!!!!!!

TxDon thanks for the photos of your L5030 with BH...Can you tell me where you got the canopy on your tractor?
Thanks,
Runk

Re: BH Pics wanted \"PLEASE\"!!!!!!!

Runk, the canopy is a Wells AG canopy. The dealer had them in stock. I think they are made somewhere near Dallas Texas (Bird would know). I really enjoy mine now that that Texas sun is starting to heat things up.

Re: BH Pics wanted \"PLEASE\"!!!!!!!

Our canopies were made by: WELLS AG COMPANY, 617 S MCLENNAN DR, ELM MOTT, TX 76640, 254/829-2822. That addresss (McLennan Dr.) is actually the northbound service road of I-35 and Elm Mott is a small town just north of Waco.

Re: BH Pics wanted \"PLEASE\"!!!!!!!

Hey txdon:
When I bought my L4330 i decided not to buy the backhoe with it...I thought the compact tractor setup with the two seats looked to me to not be possible to operate. Naturally, since then I have second guessed this decision (especially since I am a residential general contractor and I build foundations). Seeing your photos has really gotten my second guessing going over the edge and into the realm of seriously rethinking my original decision to buy a skidsteer also if I want to have a BH setup.
Can I ask you what it is like operating your tractor with the BH?
I am used to skidsteers with BH's and the big BH/tractors with one swiveling seat.
So, my question is how the heck does one reposition the tractor while digging/using the BH? Do you have to get off and back on and off again and on again each time you need to move/reposition? Isn't this very time consuming? Or can you reach over the tractors seat to the controls??
I see you have the HST, does that trans make the tractor easier to move?
(I have the GST).
Your feedback will be very helpful.
Thanks again,
Runk
PS: Your rock photo is printed here and going on the wall!

Re: BH Pics wanted \"PLEASE\"!!!!!!!

I have the same canopy and I thought it was a Kubota build....ya learn something new everyday, I like it but it is heavy definitely a two man job or overhead assistance.

Runk, Yes I get on and off the tractor to reposition it. Most Of my back hoe work is in one or two places at one spot so it is not too bad. If I dig a trench I'll get the wife to sit up front and release the brake raise the FEL and move forward, as I lift the stabilizers. Some have a stick to push on the HST pedal to reposition, but I don't think a stick would work for setting the brake and reaching the FEL would be a stretch. IF back hoeing is the main job of the tractor a L39, L48, or JD110 would be better. There is no tractor that does everything perfect, so I just settled on the tractor that did most of my jobs the best.

Re: BH Pics wanted \"PLEASE\"!!!!!!!

If this works, there should be a picture attached. I just uploaded some pics in the photo section under New Holland. Look for my user name.

I have a Bushhog 750 on a TC30. The first couple of photos are of my dad digging with the hoe. Sorry for the pic quality, I forgot my camera and had to use a cheapy disposable.
