If you watch Chickanic on you-tube she also says soak it in a bucket of water it dries out over time.

Her job seems to be making video's, not test items. I have ran soaked strings and dry strings, in the same head.

So what were the results? She was referring to string that sat a long time even at the dealer? I have never tried it but plan on if string seems to be breaking too often which mine seems to be breaking more than I like and is a few years old. She does make a lot of videos, can't blame her it makes her money I'm sure but I find a lot of them to be helpful.

I don’t think there’s an improvement. The soaking reduces degradation from drying out. That’s what the local Stihl dealer shop told me.
