Oh. Those are a bit harder to manage, but my recommendation is to try them without a trellis and see if you need one. You can always hedge trim them if they get unruly. The reason I say those are harder to manage (floricane varieties) is that you need to prune out the old canes, while keeping the new canes at the end of every season, so the pruning is slow and labor intensive. With primocane varieties, you cut everything to the ground in winter and they resprout with new fruiting canes each spring.I planted Jewel black raspberries. They fruit on last year's cane.
