Bent Axle?

There's side load when driving around, especially on slopes. Using the outriggers to lift the rear wheels, even if only a bit helps when operating. I try to just take the weight off, not lift fully off the ground.

But we don't know if any of this caused the OP's situation, or if it was just a bad weld.

I think it was a bad weld that showed up when loaded with a BH.

Took the tire off today and there are two bad welds on the hub part that is inside the rim. The part is on back order and I'm having a hard time finding out when it will be in stock. Called LS and they were suppose to call me back but no luck. The dealer can fix mine for 125.00 and I'll have a backup when the other one comes in. Just a real pain in the arse. I'm in the middle of putting in a patio, moving dirt, installing a pump and installing a driveway. The tractor picked a bad time to fail. Pavers are going in Next week so I may have to bit the bullet and get it fixed at the dealer. I could take it to a welder locally but not sure if they can weld with the tire on and not too many welders have tire machines.

You don't use a tire machine to remove a rear tire on a tractor!

I'd expect your Dealer to loan you a tire and wheel until yours came in.

$125 spare sounds decent to me.

So sure to be the cause, and why replacements are scarce if it's a vendor quality issue. ('legendary lemon', recall, etc)

I don't think there's a tractor so 'small' that this isn't a bargain. :)

Because I aspire to be like SR and a few other members I'd consider jacking the wheel, truing and tacking it, and taking it to a welder that IMO should only need to ground his - lead ok (some paint removal?) vs remove the tire to fix/replace the weak OEM welds.

It's not the money. Not that thrilled driving on a repaired rim that is cracked and has cracked welds.

A good welding shop will make it stronger than a new one.....but I understand some folks just don't like repaired things on their tractors, they just want it like new again.
