Because "some" wheels come with adjustments at the outer rim, I don't know if yours has those adjustments or not. If it does, perhaps there's a problem there?

But you found it, it was more of the bent rim variety...

That might be one of the wheels that is made up of a inner hub, ring, and outer hub, and made to allow different orientations (standard/narrow, flipped/wide, etc). It could simply be coming apart because some of the bolts came loose or fell out. I think if you study it, that would be obvious.

That is often a result of loose lug nuts/bolts or loose clamping nuts/bolts. Once the wheel comes loose, driving on it will cause cracking. Too many people find that out the hard way. Super important to check all the wheel lugs and bolts periodically. If the cracking (or any wallowing) is right around one of the bolt holes, you have found your smoking gun.

Can you post a picture of the whole inner rim, so we can see all the bolt holes? And if any fasteners are missing or loose, indicate if those were removed or lost. I would bet there is a high correlation between the cracks and any missing or loose fasteners.

It looks like in the picture that the left side has broken free and the right side is cracked.

Are there suppose to be bolts in the square holes of the inner rim that connect it to tabs on the outer rim or did welds break?

You’re also missing 2 lug bolts that hold the inner rim to the axle.

Generally, the square holes are to bolt weights on.

Yeah, did the OP take the lugs bolts out? I don't think these wheels are adjustable for width, but I'd have to check mine to be sure.

Henderson ain't but a hop, skip and a holler from LS Corporate. I think a road trip might be in order.

The first thing I did was to remove the tire. Pulled two bolts and saw that the inner part of the rim was damaged. The bolts we're all tight. Just a damaged rim.
