Dave,

I44 is definitely the prettier route. Gets you close to the Ozarks and through, or at least closer to, more of the Missouri wine country. It should also be easier getting through St. Louis going that way, since there's basically a strip city west of St. Louis along I70. You don't want to hit there at rush hour. The interstates turn into parking lots, and sometimes all the cars are doing 70 mph bumper to bumper, with wannabe NASCAR types changing 4-5 lanes at a time. I really hate driving through there.

Sounds great, where am I going? Maybe I'm having a senior moment here :). I am going to Fredonia, KS (90 miles east of Wichita) to visit my brother in August. Picking up my Mom in Ohio on the way. Packing plenty of ear plugs
Dave.

My error. It was Loran49 that's headed up to the Great Lakes. I was thinking it was you. But, have a good trip in August.

Thanks Cyril. You had me worried :) It would be fun to visit the Anheuser-Busch brewery and see the Clydesdales. My Mom can't handle a 12-13 hour drive in one day, so we will do some gawking along the way.
Dave.

Don't feel bad, my kids can't either.
