Last year I bought a used 2004 Kioti DK45 and it came with a bunch of attachments. One of them was a Bearcat 74554 5" chipper. The thing looks like it has never been run.... it's been sitting out in the sun, so the paint is a bit faded, but there is very little signs of use. I was thinking I was going to use it, but so far it is just cluttering up my yard. I'd like to sell it, but I have looked high and low for a comparable price for one of these, and there is literally NOTHING on the internet of these for sale. There is one in Maine for $5000; so I figured I'd price mine at $4300. A guy texted me and told me it was only worth $1400. I find that pretty hard to believe due to its primo condition. Can anyone give me an idea what is a fair price for this thing? I am located near Lake Tahoe. Thanks.

Can anyone give me a ballpark on it's value? Bearcat tells me that new they were an $8k item. I find it a bit difficult that there is an 85% discount on slightly used units.

Well I have a bearcat chipper, but it's slightly different. Mine is towable and runs off of a Honda motor. It has the self feed feature and can cut up to 9in limbs or trees. I paid $12,000 for it about 10 years ago. Just a reference point, but I know the brand and chippers.

You have it priced right, No less than $4,000 is what I would sell it for.

Thanks for the confirmation. I figured $4k ish was a fair price. I pulled the cover over the belts and it apparently has the factory idler arm to tighten the belts- which I guess - the lack of one in the earlier versions- was a problem. If anyone is looking for a great low hours chipper, contact me.

I had a Bearcat 73554 which was the manual feed 5" chipper/shredder. I bought it used for $2400, used it for a couple of years and sold it for $1500 plus a post hole digger with 2 augers.

I think that in the $3500-4000 range someone will snap that up. I don't think I'd let it for for less than $3000. Hard to find a USA made hydraulic feed chipper for that price.
