BCS 850 new engine

I have a BCS 850 that came without the Briggs v twin engine. Will the adaptor work on a replacement engine like the honda. Apperently the engine shaft for the clutch was 1 1/4" and so doesn't fit any of the replacement engines available from earthtools. I want to put a new motor on this tractor and if I need to a new clutch along with new cables and make it like new. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Are you sure about the clutch? I think the only clutch over an inch was the 14 hp Kohler on the 745, 945, 946 models.

The adapter will definitely work for most of the engines available.

I replaced the 14 hp B&S with a Honda, from Earth tools. sent my clutch to them, they installed it and shipped me the complete motor assembly. Made the swap very simple. If I were you, I would call Joel and ask, can't find a nicer bunch to work with.
