I made my own with a food grade 55 gal. Drum. It holds the temp good.

Anyone here have a Weber Summit? I have only seen one; they are fairly expensive, but I sure like the looks of it. Apparently it has no problem functioning as a smoker or as a grill. I use my BGE as a smoker, and my Weber kettle for grilling. The Summit has the e-z clean system like the kettle, I'm not impressed with that system at all. I preferred the original vents, had no problem scooping out the ashes.

I use my Weber kettle for grilling and smoking, and many times a grill/smoke combo (is that a slow grill or a fast smoke?) . For smoking, I use the snake method, with a line of coals all the way around the coal grate. Light one end and it slowly burns for many hours, at a low heat. I like having one grill that I get used to, and can control the heat easier since I use it so often. But it's no match for the true smokers with much more sophisticated settings and gauges.
